Research mission:

My work is framed within the broad field of political ecology and I seek to bring an interdisciplinary perspective to questions of development and sustainability.

Core interest in research field:

I have recently focused my research on the politics of scale within development and environmental governance in the areas of the energy crisis, health and the environment and water governance.

Subject presentation:

The research at LUCSUS focuses on sustainability challenges such as water conflicts, food security, land use changes and urban transformation from an interdisciplinary perspective working in cooperation with partners outside academia. The overall focus is on sustainability and sustainable development.

Research passion:

I am interested in questions of fairness and justice in relation to access to natural resources. 

Likes/dislikes in research:

I enjoy the very real-world relevance of the research I do and interacting across disciplines and with people outside academia.

Biggest challenges/opportunities in research:

The complexity and interconnectedness of issues is a challenge and an opportunity.

Other things to share:

I have worked for over ten years outside academia including with government, international organisations like the World Bank and UNDP and with NGOs and CSOs on various sustainability issues.
