Hydrosolidarity is an ethical approach that is based on a scientific understanding of the importance of water for social and economic development. It's about solidarity between different water actors, such as between people upstream and downstream, but also between people and ecosystems. Hydro Solidarity means a holistic approach to water issues where different sectors and different disciplines work together to solve problems with sanitation, food production, conflict, and pollution. The concept emphasizes the links between land and water, i.e. water resources with its surrounding lands should be viewed as a unit. It also means that water resources should not be confined by national or administrative borders.
The aim is to create and establish the multidisciplinary platform among Swedish players in water issues and communicating knowledge about strategies for success when applying for research and development funding from the EU.
