Released preliminary programme, added keynote speakers, extended registration.
Watermatex 2019 will provide a great forum to exchange methodologies and international experience on all aspects of water-related problems within an interdisciplinary framework that relies heavily on different types of models. While methodology-focused, the symposium’s contributions of course also extend to applications, but are not restricted to any single discipline. It deals with problems in drinking water treatment and distribution, sewer systems and wastewater treatment, surface and groundwater, technical and natural systems. Integrated Assessment aims at bringing all aspects of a problem together, and is particularly concerned with such issues as the social and economic impacts of solutions to these problems.
Watermatex aims at promoting the application of mathematical methods for modelling and simulation, data management, systems analysis and decision support within the entire water sector. It targets people from research, consulting companies, institutions and utilities to extend the use of models and computing tools to support the understanding, management and optimization of all water systems.
The conference programme (preliminary version) has been released. We have some 90 oral presentations (incl. keynotes by prof. Peter A. Vanrolleghem, prof. Zhiguo Yuan and prof. Aurora Seco as well as plenary presentations by Dr. M.S. Ahm, prof. I. Nopens and Dr. Kris Villez) and around 50 posters accepted. Pre-conference workshops and post-conference courses have now been announced. There will be activities from August 31 until September 6, so plan your travel arrangements carefully. You may also take the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful city of Copenhagen for a few extra days. Go check out all details at the Conference Programme page.
Note that early bird registration as well as submission of full papers/updated extended abstracts are extended to June 30! Exciting news is that IWA Executive Director, Professor Kala Vairavamoorthy, will also join us for Watermatex 2019 in Copenhagen.
