IEA and the department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering at DTU, Denmark are organising the next IWA Watermatex 2019 conference on September 1-4, 2019 (mainly held in Copenhagen). Dr Ulf Jeppsson and Prof Krist Gerney are co-charing the organisation committee. The Executive Director of IWA, professor Kalanithy Vairavamoorthy, will be in attendance at the conference.

The 10th IWA Symposium on Modelling and Integrated Assessment (Watermatex 2019) will provide an international forum to present, discuss and exchange methodologies and international experiences on all aspects of water-related problems, within an interdisciplinary framework that relies heavily on the use of different types of models. While methodology-focused, the symposium’s contributions of course also extend to practical applications of such methodologies, where applications are not restricted to any single discipline. The conference therefore deals with problems in drinking water treatment and distribution, sewer systems and wastewater treatment, surface and groundwater, technical and natural systems. Integrated Assessment aims at bringing all aspects of a problem together, and is particularly concerned with such issues as the social and economic impacts of potential solutions to water-related problems.

The conference will include 5-6 thematic workshops.
